Cutting Trophy Shelf Brackets

Before cutting trophy shelf brackets, check on the current inventory of brackets since they are cut from scrap it is typically best to let them build up for awhile and cut a big batch.  Brackets are cut from 1.5" select pine, this could be ripped from scraps of backers and shelves, or leftovers from medal holders.

Rip select pine scraps from the ends of trophy shelf boards into 1.5" strips.  If the strip is over 12" in length set them aside to be cut in to 12" medal holders.

On the miter saw, set it to 45° and cut off the end.  Make sure stickers are on the far left side so they can eventually be cut off.

The initial cut should look like this.

Check to make sure the angle of the cut is correct.  If they're right, cut all of them off on one end.

Use the setup block to get the length cut correctly.
