Miter Saw

General Safety & Usage

  • The #1 rule of using the miter saw is: DON'T CUT YOUR HAND OFF

  • Be careful not to slam the wood into the fence. This will shift it slightly.

  • Every now and then, check to make sure the length is accurate on the cut. Compare your piece to the jig that you used to set the fence.

The miter saw has a vacuum attached to it for dust collection help.
Make sure the vacuum is on before you start using the saw.
Here is how the vacuum is attached to the bucket and saw.
Use clamps to set fence to whatever length you are cutting.
Notice how there is a gap underneath the fence. This allows sawdust to build up out of the way instead of in front of the fence.
The shelf to the right of the saw has all of the various lengths for products.
Use these jigs to set the fence.
