Start by selecting stave tips that have been rejected from drill pressing for stave tealights that are thicker ~1", do not use the thin ones.
Do not use staves that are less than 2" wide as these could create pieces that wedge into the blade kerf and jam the saw.

Align stave tip in position 1 with the tip towards the blade, inside down, and the left edge (yellow) aligned to the right edge of the jig.
Rip the right side of stave tip off.

Rotate the stave tip 180° into position 2 with the edge that was just ripped against the right side of the jig.
Rip the exposed edge of the stave tip off.

The ripped width should be VERY close to 1". Use calipers to measure for accuracy.

Cut handle to length using small part cutting jig on miter saw. Set stop to 4.25" using the setup template. Make your cut.
