How to Cut MJH Wood to Length
Batch Size: 20 Classic Sides (batch size varies based on side length)
Time Standard: 10 minutes
This guide mostly pertains to Classic MJH sides, but the process is the same for other sizes, just use the correct cutting template.
Make sure Jumbo and XL sides are very clear sides with minimal defects
Cut the end of the board off so the end is clean and square.
Cut boards to length. Each board produces 5 pieces, which in turn are ripped into 10 MJH sides which leaves some wiggle room on your cuts. You should think about how to cut the board to maximize yield by cutting around defects in the engravable area.
Cutting through knots or other non straight grain patterns can be difficult on the miter saw. If necessary take it in two cuts.
