How to Glue Barrel Backers
Pour glue into applicator
Roll glue onto both the barrel round (wine side) and the hardboard backer. Glue the side WITHOUT the holes on the backer.
Place the backer on the barrel round, keeping it centered as much as possible.
Shoot a 3/4" nail with the 23-gauge nail gun into the center to hold it in place, and then shoot nails around the perimeter of the round to seal the edges.
Make sure crank latch is in the UP position, and then crank to raise the weight.
Place barrel round in the base of the crusher with plastic on top. When placing the next barrel round, make sure the grain is running the opposite direction of the round beneath it.
Put latch in the DOWN position and lower the weight once you have finished gluing all the rounds. Hold the crank the entire way down or it will fall and hurt you.
Completely disassemble the roller and wash each piece with hot water in the utility sink. Dry the metal parts with paper towels and leave together on rack to dry.
